PC manufacturers are already announcing 15-20% price increases starting later this year. One major memory company (Micron) stopped selling to regular consumers entirely — AI companies pay so much more that everyday customers aren’t worth their time anymore. And this won’t get better until 2027 or 2028 at the earliest. Building new factories takes years and billions of dollars, and most of that future production is already promised to AI companies.

What should you do? If you’ve been thinking about buying a new computer, phone, tablet, or any major electronic — do it now. Don’t wait for holiday deals; they probably won’t exist for memory-dependent products. Also be aware: when word gets out, you’ll likely see scalpers buying up electronics at today’s prices to resell later at a markup (just like concert tickets).
