Anthropic killed the timer. If you're on Claude Ultra (the plan that used to be called Max 20x), you know the frustration. You're deep into a complex project, thinking out loud with the model, and it cuts you off after five hours. That limit is gone now. Same price, same weekly usage allowance, just no more hard stop mid-session. Check where you stand at claude.ai/settings/usage. This matters most if you use Claude for long research sessions, drafting documents in stages, or anything that requires real back-and-forth over an extended stretch.
ChatGPT and Codex are becoming one thing. OpenAI is merging both into a single interface over the coming weeks. The practical part: you'll be able to hand off tasks directly from the main chat window, things like building a simple site, putting together a presentation, or having the AI take actions on the web, without jumping to a separate tab. The catch worth knowing now is that ChatGPT and Codex will share the same usage allowance, and more complex tasks will eat more of it. Keep an eye on Settings, then Usage inside your account at openai.com. If you're a heavy user, plan accordingly before the merge hits.
Grok is swapping its voice model automatically. If you've built anything on xAI's API that involves voice, customer support calls, or speech workflows, xAI is quietly retiring Grok Voice 2.0 on November 5. Calls will route automatically to Grok Voice 3.0, which xAI says ranks first on the Artificial Analysis Speech-to-Speech Index with sub-second response times. Price stays the same. You don't have to do much, but if your code has the model name hardcoded, update it now rather than scramble on the 5th.
