Now on to today’s news: A password manager just solved the biggest reason owners won't let AI agents do real work.

The login problem just got solved. If you've ever set up an AI agent to handle a task and then realized it needed to log into something, you know the moment. Do you paste in your password? Create a throwaway account? Give up and do it yourself? Most owners give up. Anthropic and 1Password just released an integration that handles this properly, and it's worth understanding how it works.

When Claude needs to sign into a site, 1Password steps in and fills the credentials directly, the same way it does when you log in yourself. Your password never enters Claude's context window (think of that as Claude's short-term memory, the place where everything you type lives temporarily). You approve the action with Touch ID. When the task ends, access ends. That's the whole thing. No pasting credentials into a chat. No screenshotting your vault.

This matters because a lot of the tasks owners actually want to delegate require a login. Managing subscriptions. Pulling invoices from vendor portals. Booking services. Reconciling accounts in systems that don't have APIs. All of that has been sitting behind a friction point. This removes it. Currently Mac-only, and you'll need a paid Claude plan (Pro, Max, Team, or Enterprise) plus an active 1Password subscription to use it.

Claude can now learn by watching you work. Anthropic's Claude Cowork desktop app just added what they're calling a skill builder. You hit "Record a skill," walk through any workflow on your screen, and Claude saves those steps as a reusable automation. No writing out instructions. No flowcharts. Just do the thing once and let it watch.

This shipped alongside a handful of other updates: a live macOS/iOS simulator loop for developers, a screen reader mode for Claude Code, and a drop in the Team plan minimum from five seats to two (which makes it a real option for very small teams). The bigger item on the horizon is Conway, Anthropic's always-on cloud agent, which exits internal testing July 24. Public preview is expected shortly after that.

·        OpenAI's agentic products hit 10 million weekly users as ChatGPT Work adoption accelerates. Self-reported, but relevant context if you're deciding which platform to build workflows on.

·        France, Italy, and the EU AI Act are tightening cookie and email tracking rules with new obligations taking effect August 2. Practical checklist moment: loop in your developer and whoever owns your privacy policy before Q3 ends.

·        Zapier is hosting a free live session July 29 unpacking the AI Workflow Index with the head of Glean's Work AI Institute.

·        Google released Gemini 3.6 Flash, 3.5 Flash-Lite, and 3.5 Flash Cyber with an efficiency focus, while the more capable 3.5 Pro model remains delayed.

·        Washington is weighing controls on Chinese open-weight AI models including Kimi, potentially blocking local downloads.

·        Anthropic's Conway always-on cloud agent exits internal testing July 24 with public preview expected soon after.

·        An AWS study of 3,400+ founders found AI-native startups are reaching billion-dollar valuations in roughly 3.5 years.
