Two projects shot up the GitHub charts this week, and they're not about making AI smarter. They're about making AI output stop looking like it was designed by a committee of robots. If you've ever cringed at a slide deck or website your AI tool spit out, this is the news you've been waiting for.

AI can write code now. It just can't make anything look good. That's the problem Impeccable is trying to solve. It's a design language, think of it like a style guide baked directly into the tools developers use, so when an AI builds something for you it follows real design rules instead of defaulting to ugly defaults. Six hundred and nineteen developers starred it today alone. That's a signal. The core insight here is that AI coding assistants are getting genuinely useful for building small business apps and internal tools, but the results look amateur. Impeccable is an attempt to fix the aesthetics layer without making the human do all the work.

Same problem, different angle. Hallmark is a design skill add-on specifically for Claude Code, Cursor, and Codex (three popular AI coding assistants). The project describes itself as "anti-AI-slop," which is a phrase I'd put on a bumper sticker. It picked up 455 stars today. If you're using any of those tools to build things for your business, or paying a developer who is, worth knowing this exists. The output could look a lot less... generated.

  • aws/agent-toolkit-for-aws: Amazon's official toolkit for building AI agents that work with AWS cloud services. Relevant if you're already on AWS and want AI automation to talk to your infrastructure. (13 stars today)

  • Nutlope/hallmark: A design add-on for Claude Code, Cursor, and Codex that fights back against ugly AI-generated interfaces. Plug it in and the AI follows better visual rules. (455 stars today)

  • pbakaus/impeccable: A design system baked into your AI coding environment so the apps and tools it builds don't look like a first draft. (619 stars today)

  • pollen-robotics/microduck: A tiny two-legged duck robot. Genuinely just a small walking duck robot. No business application, but it's Friday somewhere. (319 stars today)

  • google-gemini/gemini-cli: Google's open-source tool that lets you run Gemini AI directly from your computer's command line, no browser needed. (44 stars today)
